First Position Dance Arts

Children’s Program Studio Information 2018-2019

Register early because class size is limited to 15.  The first tuition installment payment and registration fee ($25 for new students and $20 for returning students) are due upon registration. If your dancer is registering later than our start date of 9/15/18, monthly tuition installment fees are adjusted accordingly. If your dancer participates in performances other than the recital, there may be additional costs associated.

First Position’s tuition is not based on the number of classes per month. It is a total fee for the classes provided from September through our recitals in June. Tuition is paid in ten monthly installments. These installments are deducted from your DEBIT or CREDIT card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express) on the same designated day of your choosing each month from September 1st through June 1st. A non-negotiable fee of $20 will be assessed for any declined credit card charge. A non-negotiable fee of $35 will be assessed for any rejected check.

Any classes that are missed during the month are NOT deducted from any installment. It is the sole responsibility of the parent/dancer to make up the missed classes at another time. Dancers must make up missed classes during the 2018-2019 studio season. Use this opportunity to test drive a new dance style!

Dancers are expected on time (to receive the proper warm-up/technique) and expected at all scheduled classes!! Dancers must practice at home! Using class time as a dancer’s only practice time is not enough. Dancers must practice at home! Yes, said twice! Poor attendance may lead to increased risk of injury, inability to retain movement vocabulary, and difficulty in sustaining the same level as the rest of the class.  In addition, it is disrespectful to both fellow dancers and the dance educator to be repeatedly absent.  In addition to regular attendance, DANCERS SHOULD PRACTICE AND STRETCH 15-20 MIN. DAILY. When a child is learning to play a musical instrument, he/she is strongly encouraged to practice daily. In dance, the body and brain are the instruments! Dancers will retain, improve and excel at a much faster rate if they PRACTICE AND STRETCH DAILY. Dance has been proven to enhance brain development, academic studies and time management skills.
